Appetizers – A Gift or a necessity? Pulling Off the Perfect (Easy) Party:
Most of us love parties. But let’s face it–hosting a party can be so much work that it can take away a lot of the fun. I recommend letting others do the work for you. In fact, if it were within my budget, I would have every party fully catered!
Unfortunately, I do have better things to do with my limited resources than hire a chef, assistants, exuberant bartenders and overdressed servers. Instead I compromise. I use heat and serve gourmet (truly scrumptious and beautiful) appetizers. We usually add a selection of wines along with non-alcoholic alternatives. Since I am certainly not a wine expert, I don’t really trust myself to choose. Instead, I turn to the experts for choices selected by critics.
When it’s time for the party to wind down, I offer coffee (regular and decaf) and tea along with a slice of gourmet cheesecake. I figure if I send my guests home happy and satisfied, next time they’ll do the party planning.
